Spicy Sesame Cauliflower Wings
It's no secret cauliflower can be swapped for a number of ingredients due to its mild flavour and fibrous texture. We're sure you're going to love this spicy twist on 'wings' by the good folks at Naked and Saucy.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cauliflower
- 1 cup GF panko or breadcrumbs (optional)
- 1/2 cup chickpea flour
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 Tbsp Naked & Saucy Perfectly Salted Organic Soy Sauce Substitute
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 cup water
- Cornstarch slurry: 2 Tbs cornstarch + 2 Tbsp cold water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 425 F
- Chop the cauliflower into similar size florets
- In one bowl, whisk together the chickpea flour and water until smooth
- In another bowl, have the GF panko or breadcrumbs, if using
- With one hand, dip the cauliflower floret into the chickpea "egg" mixture
- Using the other hand to coat the floret into the breadcrumb
- Bake for 20 minutes
- While the florets are baking, prepare the sauce: make the cornstarch slurry first. Then whisk together the remaining ingredients and add to the slurry. Heat the sauce on low heat until thickened
- Once the florets have finished baking, allow it to cool and mix in the sauce
